Hi There ! I am Vanda. I am 58 years old, married with 3 beautiful daughters. I started my weight loss journey in February 2018 and have safely lost over 170lbs by following a Ketogenic Lifestyle.
I am a qualified Ketogenic Lifestyle Coach and qualified Life Coach and am passionate about helping others achieve their goals. I prefer to coach on a one on one basis, therefore being able to focus on the individual needs of each client.
For as long as I can remember I have struggled with my weight. As I child I was “pleasantly Plump”.
One of my most vivid memories as a child was of my parents enrolling me in Weight Watchers - no child should ever have to go through that humiliation. My weight was never really an issue for me health wise. I did not have any health related diseases, but it did wreck havoc On my self esteem, this continued right through my teenage years and into adulthood. My husband and I married very young, and we had our first child 5 years later, we went on to have 2 more children - each 5 years apart. I don’t think that I ever really lost any significant weight before or after the births. I continued to struggle both physically and mentally with the burdening weight and health issues started to creep in - high blood pressure, pre-diabetic, more aches and pains than I care to mention and I was so unhappy.
there was not a day that would go by that I would not google the latest diet, always looking for that quick fix.
It was February 2018 when I was at my heaviest that my husband looked at me and asked if I wanted to be around long enough to see our grandchildren grow up. My husband Bless him has never in all the years we have been married mentioned my weight. It was at this point that I knew that something had to be done.
He found the Egg Diet while on the internet and suggested that we give it a try - I love eggs so I thought hell why not. It was not difficult and I did lose a few pounds, but of course this is not something that I could live on. So back to googling again, the more I researched, the more the Ketogenic Lifestyle kept showing up. This definitely looked like something I could do. I was determined to make this work. not thinking for a second that I would actually enjoy it. The first few weeks were kinda rough, but I stuck with it, and as the days passed, the weight started to come off. I could start to see the difference, my clothes fit a bit loser, and my confidence started to grow. I knew that I needed to add some exercise. so I started to walking around the neighborhood, it was slow and steady, but I kept at it, each day pushing myself to go just that little bit further.
My lifestyle change has been the absolute best thing for me. I have lost over 170lbs but what I have gained far outweighs that - I have gained my self esteem and confidence, my happiness and the passion to now be able to help others who are silently struggling.
